Lymphatic Therapy MANUAL LYMPH DRAINAGE (MLD)

This very effective technique was developed in Europe in the 1930"s by Dr Vodder Mr and Mrs this is a hand technique that very gently and safely manipulate the flow of lymph in the right direction to promote drainage of excess fluid from body tissues and also to aid in detoxifying the body.of accumulated toxins.

Scientific studies as well as clinical experiences have proven the effectiveness and successes of this technique since the 1930's. More and more within Canada and the United States the benefits are been recognized and appreciated.

The lymphatic system is part of the circulatory system responsible for carrying off unusable waste matter such as proteins, bacteria, long chain fats, dusts dyes , dead cells and cell parts mutant cells and more to lymph nodes where it is filtered and cleaned before returning to the blood . One of the key differences between these two systems, is that the lymphatic system does not have a pump, therefore movement is dependent on a number of boldly functions. Which over time would have suffered numerous misuse and in some cases abuse and thereby fail to operate efficiently

Why is it so important that this system is always working?

This system is vital to proper Immune function. If this immune guard is not present, then one becomes susceptible to all kinds of infections, viruses and disease and the body has absolutely no defense against any of it, therefore one dies..

What are the benefits of having a lymphatic drainage?

1. To support and enhance the action of the lymphatic system
2. Speeds up the healing capacity of the body.
3. Relaxes the sympathetic nervous system, thus helping to relieve stress
4. Cleanses metabolic waste, toxins, large protein molecules and foreign substances from the tissues
5. Assist in minimizing scar and keloid formation
6. Alleviates pain and inflamation.
7. It is so relaxing that it has a sympatholytical effect upon the body.

What is the effect upon swollen limbs?

When this technique is carried out properly, the results upon the tissue are remarkable. The before and after is significantly different.

What are the conditions that can create a problem in the lymphatic system?

The lymphatic system can fail due to any one or all of the following reasons
A. Mechanical Insufficiency of the lymphatic system in which case on is born with insufficient lymph vessels or, B. insufficiency due to trauma/accident/radiation/disease or surgery.
When the body is not able to carry out drainage effectively, then manual lymph drainage must be performed to facilitate drainage efficiently. If cells are exposed to a toxic and undernourished environment then disease in every case will be the result.
