Acupuncture

Many people have had it with long waiting room visits to the hospitals, and are now beginning to explore what eastern medicine has to offer, they are fed-up with medication after medication that merely maintains them in a diseased state and for many just does not ease the pain, and for the rest, creates adverse effects that warrants more medication.

Alternative/natural medicine, which was once considered quackery medicine, adapts an wholistic approach, acknowledging the healing connection between the mind body and soul
Alternative/natural medicine covers a very wide field which encompasses many healing modalities, successful in relieving pain, promoting a healthier lifestyle, reversing disease, and providing answers and resolve in situations where western medicine may not have been able to provide.

Acupuncture is one such modality that has gained recognition and is clearly recognized for treating a number of ailments, or is merely use as an adjunctive to other treatment regimes,
Conditions commonly treated by acupuncture are:
Headaches/Migraines, Allergies/Asthma, Neck /shoulder/back pains, sexual dysfunction, drug and smoke addictions, gynecological disorders, stress/ tension/high anxiety and stress, arthritic pain and the list is comprehensibly long.

Does acupuncture work?

Well In 1996 the FDA took the needles used in acupuncture off its “experimental instruments list. Then in November 1997 The National Institutes of Health consensus panel was convened to examine all available research on this ancient therapy. The consensus concludes that acupuncture:
•Has dramatically lowered incidence of adverse side effects than that of many drugs or other accepted medical procedures used for the same conditions.
•Is clearly effective in treating a number of conditions without harmful side effects
•May be considered an effective adjunct therapy for a number of other conditions, including carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic pain, stroke rehabilitation, arthritis, asthma and other chronic pain conditions.
•Should be integrated in to standard medical practice and be covered by Insurance companies and other Medicare systems.

Acupuncture is now a house hold name claiming pain relief for many and the reverse of disease for others.
